Priory palace is a small castle situated right on the shore of the Black lake. It became one of the landmarks of Gatchina for its special design and condition class: it is a rammed-earth construction, made of earth, linden, and two stone types. This unusual building method and the surrounding scenery made this small palace an attractive site of Gatchina Park.
