Spaso-Preobrazhensky (Transfiguration) Cathedral is the main temple of the Spaso-Efimiev Monastery, built in the traditions of the ancient white-stone architecture of Suzdal. It is a true gem and adornment of the ancient city.
The temple is distinguished by its special severity and laconic lines. Outside, the cathedral is decorated with a columnar belt, characteristic of that time, and relief images made of stone. Frescoes of the 16th century have been preserved on the facades. The interior of the cathedral is decorated with paintings by Kostroma masters (end of the 17th century).
