The Church of Nikola is the Orthodox church in Yaroslavl which is the only temple on the former territory of Yaroslavl Kremlin. It is unique for the fact it remained just as it was originally in the XVII century. It is also called the church St Nicholas's Church in Rubleny Gorod which means 'Chopped Town' — an ancient wooden fortress. It does not resemble the splendid Orthodox temples and looks pretty modest in comparison to them, but all its details, looking harmoniously and proportionally make the church a very impressive monument of architecture.
